Privacy Policy

Who we are
This website is run by Performance Business Services Ltd (“PBS”, “we”, “us”), a bookkeeping company based in Glasgow, Scotland. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. We take your privacy seriously and only collect what we need.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you use our contact form, email us or call us, we collect the details you choose to share, such as:
- your first and last name
- your email address and phone number
- the subject and content of your message, and anything you tell us about your business
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to keep the site secure and working properly. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits; it does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- reply to your enquiry and discuss how we can help
- provide bookkeeping and related services if you become a client
- keep our website secure and protect our contact form from spam
- understand, in aggregate, how our website is used so we can improve it
Under UK data protection law, we rely on your consent (when you tick the box on our form), our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running a secure website, and, where you become a client, the need to take steps to enter into or perform a contract with you and to meet our legal obligations.
We will never sell your information, and we won’t send you marketing messages unless you have asked us to.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with trusted service providers who help us run our business, and only as far as they need it:
- Cloudflare — hosts this website, delivers contact form messages to our inbox, provides spam protection (Turnstile) and cookie-free web analytics.
- Our email provider — stores the messages we send and receive.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent) to protect it. We may also share information if the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails and form messages for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and no longer than 2 years if you don’t become a client. If you become a client, we keep records for as long as required by law and professional rules (for example, financial records are usually kept for 6 years).
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent
- ask us to transfer your information to another organisation
To use any of these rights, just contact us. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab) or on 0303 123 1113 — though we’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Cookies and analytics
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t use Google Analytics. Our analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) is privacy-friendly and cookie-free. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
